Honda Civic RS 2024 revealed, looks like Type R, has more than 200 horsepower, will it come to Vietnam?

Although it is only a prototype, the 2024 Honda Civic RS will bring many new features compared to previous RS versions, especially the manual transmission configuration for more than 200 horsepower performance.

At the Tokyo Auto Salon 2024, Honda introduced the Honda Civic RS sedan, but this is only a prototype, not an official version. The company said the commercial version will soon launch in the second half of this year.


According to the image, it can be seen that this 2024 Honda Civic RS no longer has the usual sedan style, but instead has a Hatchback style quite similar to the high-performance Civic Type R. The car has some notable details such as bumpers. The front has a sporty design, the red RS logo is placed on the grille and trunk door.


In addition, the entire exterior of the Civic RS is painted glossy satin black, helping to reinforce the sporty elements of this car model. Other details such as LED lighting clusters or 18-inch wheels with Y-shaped spokes painted in matte black remain unchanged. The Led taillight cluster of the hatchback configuration is identical to the version currently sold on the market.


The manufacturer said that unlike the regular version, the 2024 Honda Civic RS will have an engine configuration quite similar to the Civic Type R when equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission but still uses a 1.5L turbocharged gasoline engine with 1.5L capacity. Adjusted capacity up to 200 horsepower, 260 Nm. This performance is higher than the regular 1.5L version and lower than the high-performance Type R version.


With the configuration adjusted, the performance of the Honda Civic RS is on par with two competitors from Korea, the Kia K3 GT and Hyundai Elantra N Line. Both models use a 1.6L turbocharged gasoline engine with a capacity of 204 horsepower and 265 Nm and come with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

In Vietnam, the Honda Civic RS version is priced from 870 million VND and the Type R version is priced at 2,399 billion VND in limited quantities. According to statistics from Vama, in 2023 there will be 1,222 Honda Civic versions and 19 Type R cars rolling into the Vietnamese market. Although the number is not high, this is one of the cars with a fairly large group compared to other cars. with common ground.
